Basketball Recap: Mascoutah's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Mascoutah lost against Centralia back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mascoutah Indians fell 59-48 to the Centralia Orphans. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Orphans are ranked 31st).

With the defeat, Mascoutah broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Centralia, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mascoutah will head out to take on Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Centralia, they are taking a road trip to challenge Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
