Softball Recap: Mission San Jose Takes a Loss

Mission San Jose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Irvington Vikings. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Mission San Jose saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Neha Okhade, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Okhade has posted since back in March of 2024. Another was Vaishnavi Nadig, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Mission San Jose's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Irvington, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Mission San Jose wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 19-3 loss against Newark Memorial on the 27th. As for Irvington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-2 win against American on the 27th.
