Basketball Recap: Del Oro Comes Up Short

Del Oro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Jesuit Marauders, falling 77-52. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Marauders are ranked 63rd).

Despite the loss, Del Oro still got an impressive performance from Reid Brear, who went 6 for 11 en route to 19 points. The game was Brear's third in a row with at least ten points. Luke Galer was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Del Oro's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Jesuit, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-6.

Del Oro will face off against Whitney at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Del Oro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.3 points per game this season. As for Jesuit, they will challenge Granite Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jesuit knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Granite Bay likes a good challenge.
