Baseball Preview: Havelock Rams vs. D.H. Conley Vikings

Havelock is 0-10 against D.H. Conley since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Havelock Rams will be playing at home against the D.H. Conley Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row dating back to last season, Havelock turned things around against West Craven on Friday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 13-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Ian Daub made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. D.H. Conley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Havelock, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
