Soccer Recap: Calallen Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Calallen can now relate to. They lost 4-1 to the La Vernia Bears on Thursday. Calallen were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the three contests prior), but La Vernia's defense proved too tough.

Calallen moved to 16-9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for La Vernia, the win (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 24-1.

Calallen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Vernia, they will square off against Davenport on Monday. La Vernia will need to watch out since Davenport has now posted at least four goals in their last five games.
