Baseball Game Preview: Pandora-Gilboa Rockets vs. Elmwood Royals

The Pandora-Gilboa Rockets will challenge the Elmwood Royals at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Pandora-Gilboa has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with ten straight losses, while Elmwood will come in with three straight victories.

Pandora-Gilboa came up short against Ottoville on Thursday, falling 13-5.

G Kempf made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Lee, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Elmwood was able to grind out a solid win over Arcadia on Thursday, taking the game 7-3.

Zackery Gross was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Ryken Zeigler was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Elmwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arcadia only posted an OBP of .250.

Elmwood's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Pandora-Gilboa, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
