Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Orange). They claimed a resounding 46-7 victory over the Montclair Mounties. Given the Mountaineers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Mounties are ranked 213th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Orange's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.3 points over those games. As for Montclair, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. West Orange is set to challenge their familiar foe East Orange Campus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mountaineers 14.4, the Jaguars 1.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Montclair will square off against rival Barringer at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
