Basketball Recap: Forks Spartans vs. Neah Bay Red Devils
After flying high against Raymond/South Bend last Tuesday, Forks came back down to earth. The Forks Spartans fell just short of the Neah Bay Red Devils by a score of 56-53 on Thursday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Neah Bay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Swan, who posted 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Swan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makyah Chambers, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 12 points and seven steals.
Forks' defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-2. As for Neah Bay, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Forks will challenge Concrete at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Neah Bay, they will square off against Tulalip Heritage at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
