East St. Louis sees their postseason come to a close

Recap: East St. Louis Flyers vs. Cary-Grove Trojans

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the East St. Louis Flyers can now relate to. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 23-20. East St. Louis' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, East St. Louis had strong showings from Larevious Woods, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and Robert (pops) Battle, who rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

Cary-Grove was led to victory by Andrew Prio and Logan Abrams. Prio gained 87 total yards and a touchdown, while Abrams rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

East St. Louis' defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Cary-Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

East St. Louis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cary-Grove also has no future games currently scheduled.
