Recap: Fayette Academy Vikings vs. Trinity Christian Academy Lions
If the Fayette Academy Vikings were feeling good off their 52-14 takedown of the Carroll Academy Jaguars last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fayette Academy's rough 52-28 loss to Trinity Christian Academy on Friday might stick with them for a while. Fayette Academy was down 45-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Hannah Logan was Fayette Academy's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Addison Mcnabb held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Trinity Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tori Robinson, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Mary Grace Cleek, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Fayette Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-16.
Fayette Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jackson Christian at 4:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Fayette Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against University School of Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University School of Jackson is coming into the game with six straight wins at home, so Trinity Christian Academy is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
