Basketball Game Preview: Florence Gophers vs. Globe Tigers

The Florence Gophers will head out to face off against the Globe Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Florence will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Florence will head into Friday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Apache Junction on Friday. Florence claimed a resounding 68-35 victory over Apache Junction. The Gophers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Florence's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Taufaasau, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Taufaasau is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Brody Ramirez was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Globe came up short against Coolidge on Friday, falling 73-48. The Tigers have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Florence's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Globe, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
