Baseball Recap: Rush Springs Triumphs

Rush Springs won the last time they faced Waurika and things went their way on Monday too. The Redskins walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Eagles.

Juddson Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Derrick Boyster was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Rush Springs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Rush Springs now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Waurika, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rush Springs will host Comanche at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waurika, they will take on Healdton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
