Basketball Recap: Hayden Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jacksboro over Vernon

It was a proper cat-fight when Jacksboro challenged Vernon on Tuesday. The contest between the Jacksboro Tigers and the Vernon Lions didn't end well, with the Jacksboro Tigers falling 45-31. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 59-49 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Walker, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brailyn Tullous, who put up seven points and five steals.

It was another big night for Key'Maria Mcbride, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards for Vernon. Mcbride is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mijah Johnson, who had seven points and three steals.

Jacksboro's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Vernon, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

Jacksboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-43 win against Bellevue on the 12th. As for Vernon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 47-46 victory against Childress on the 12th.
