Basketball Game Preview: Appomattox County Raiders vs. Chatham Cavaliers

Appomattox County and Chatham are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Appomattox County Raiders will be playing at home against the Chatham Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Appomattox County lost to Nelson County on the road by a 69-52 margin. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Governors 19-15 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chatham). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat William Campbell 74-24. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-16.

Chatham's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 8-9. As for Appomattox County, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7.

Appomattox County barely slipped by Chatham when the teams last played back in January, winning 48-47. Does Appomattox County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chatham turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
