Basketball Recap: Flint Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Connor Bluhm and Mason Olson

Flint Academy lost against St. Paul's Prep last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons came up short against the Lions, falling 42-22.

Mason Olson and Connor Bluhm certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Olson posted four points in addition to 15 boards and four blocks, while Bluhm put up four points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks. Olson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.

St. Paul's Prep found their leader in sophomore Cole Henderson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 boards. Henderson also set a new season-high mark in steals with five. Trey Walton was another key player, putting up nine points.

Flint Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Paul's Prep, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flint Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Faustina Academy on the 2nd. As for St. Paul's Prep, after both having extra time off, they and Faith Lutheran will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd.
