Basketball Recap: Advanced Studies Comes Up Short at Home Against Lead Hill

Advanced Studies unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Lead Hill Tigers on Tuesday, falling 64-13. Advanced Studies was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-10.

Noah Royce was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 12 on his way to 15 points in addition to six boards and four steals for Lead Hill. The game was Royce's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hagen Hayes, who posted ten points and three steals.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Lead Hill, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Advanced Studies will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Deer at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Lead Hill, they will welcome Founders Classical Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lead Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Founders Classical Academy likes a good challenge.
