Softball Recap: Gahr Comes Up Short

Gahr and La Mirada pushed the score to 16-8 the last time they played La Mirada, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Gladiators fell just short of the Matadores by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Gladiators in their meetings with the Matadores: they've now lost six in a row.

Isabelle Gonzalez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lea Hilbert made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Gahr's loss dropped their record down to 12-12-3. As for La Mirada, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.
