Basketball Recap: North Greene Comes Up Short

North Greene was the 42-35 winner over Unaka when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The North Greene Huskies took a 45-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Unaka Rangers.

Unaka was led to victory by Michelle Shields and Brooklyn Campbell. Shields on her way to 18 points, while Campbell posted 12 points and seven rebounds. The matchup was Shields' seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Kalli Shepard, who earned nine points.

North Greene's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 27-4. As for Unaka, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

As of now, neither North Greene nor Unaka have any future games scheduled.
