Basketball Game Preview: Shelby Golden Lions vs. Lincolnton Wolves

For the first time this season, Shelby will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Lincolnton Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Shelby saw some tournament action last Friday. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Mecklenburg.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Lincolnton was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They took a blow against East Lincoln, falling 57-17. The game marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Shelby now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lincolnton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Shelby and Lincolnton were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but Shelby came up empty-handed after a 45-44 defeat.
