Preview: Windsor Warriors vs. North Haven Nighthawks

Windsor has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the North Haven Nighthawks at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Windsor has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 339 points over their last seven contests.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Windsor had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 41-19 margin over the Bulldogs. Windsor might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Windsor's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John (pie) manning, who rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown. (pie) manning is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Damion Sparrow was in the mix too, providing Windsor with two touchdowns.

Fitch typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday North Haven proved too difficult a challenge. North Haven strolled past Fitch with points to spare, taking the game 41-22. Given North Haven's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Fitch is ranked 41st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Windsor's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.89 points. As for North Haven, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Everything went Windsor's way against North Haven when the teams last played back in November of 2018 as Windsor made off with a 34-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windsor since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
