Basketball Recap: Marion Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Marion had won four straight home games dating back to last season and Carleigh Midget did her part to make it five on Saturday. The Wildcats secured a 55-49 W over the Triad Knights thanks in part to Midget, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Her morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

Another player making a difference was Ny'Aajha Curry, who shot 55% from the field en route to 14 points along with eight boards and three blocks. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Marion's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Triad, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2.

Coming up, Marion will take on Mt. Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Triad, they will square off against Freeburg at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
