Basketball Recap: West Iredell Comes Up Short at Home Against Statesville + How To Watch

West Iredell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 57-20 loss at the hands of the Statesville Greyhounds. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 19 in a row.

Statesville found their leader in sophomore Symerria Harris, who posted 15 points. Ava Waugh was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Coming up, West Iredell will take on Wilkes Central at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Statesville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-56 defeat against Lake Norman Charter on the 19th.
