Baseball Recap: Galva Takes a Loss

Galva extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-11. They lost 12-2 to the Monmouth United Red Storm. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 10-7 to the Red Storm when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Monmouth United, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5-2. Considering they have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Monmouth United's part, Wyatt Stockdale spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Chance Stewart was incredible, firing off four doubles, two stolen bases, and two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Collin Leary, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Galva will challenge Stark County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monmouth United, they will take on Knoxville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
