Softball Game Preview: Riverside Rams vs. Colville Crimson Hawks

The Riverside Rams will square off against the Colville Crimson Hawks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Wednesday, Riverside needed a bit of extra time to put away Medical Lake. They had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since May 25, 2024.

Meanwhile, Colville got the win against Lakeside on Wednesday by a conclusive 19-5. Considering the Crimson Hawks have won six matchups by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Colville pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Riverside, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-9.

Riverside took their victory against Colville when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Crimson Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
