Volleyball Recap: Essex Tech Comes Up Short

The Essex Tech Hawks came up short against the Andover Golden Warriors on Friday and fell 3-1. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Golden Warriors 25-21 in the first set.

Essex Tech started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-9, 25-15, 25-16.

Caleb Won was the offensive standout of the contest as he had ten digs and three aces. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last four games he's played. Dylan Becker also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Essex Tech and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Andover, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.

Essex Tech has already played their next game (against Lowell Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Andover, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Haverhill on the 28th.
