The Chichester Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Ridley Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chichester is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
Chichester's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Academy Park with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Chichester got a massive performance out of Trevor Goschler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Goschler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Sanford, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Chichester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .647. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in eight consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Ridley hadn't done well against Marple Newtown recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Raiders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fightin' Tigers, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted against the Fightin' Tigers since April 24, 2017.
Bobby Doherty was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Ridley's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't).
Chichester pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Ridley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7.
Ridley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chichester has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .556.
