Softball Recap: Robstown's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Robstown had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the King Mustangs 17-3. With that win, the Cottonpickers brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.

Olivia Morales made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Morales was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those RBI marked the first that she's brought in this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karina Trevino, who fired off two home runs, five runs, and six RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Jianna Olguin was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one home run and five RBI.

Robstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Robstown's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for King, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
