Baseball Game Preview: Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle vs. Stansbury Stallions

For the second straight game, Juan Diego Catholic will face off against Stansbury. The Soaring Eagle will host the Stallions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Juan Diego Catholic has three straight victories, Stansbury has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, it was close, but Juan Diego Catholic sidestepped Stansbury for a 3-1 win.

Castle Huggard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Juan Diego Catholic is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Juan Diego Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lange Livonius, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Juan Diego Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Stansbury, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal.
