Softball Recap: Mattoon Greenwave vs. Charleston Trojans
Mattoon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell just short of the Charleston Trojans by a score of 11-9. One positive for Mattoon, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Kynlee McGraw made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. McKinnley Cowger was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double.
On Charleston's side, Aubrey Cross made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Cross was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
