Basketball Recap: Kerens Comes Up Short

Kerens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 42-33 to the Italy Gladiators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 44-42 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Italy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Camdyn Owen, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Owen has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Landry Janek, who posted four points along with seven boards and five assists.

Kerens' loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Italy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Kerens has already played their next contest (against Mildred), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Italy has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Dawson.
