Volleyball Game Preview: Whitehall Vikings vs. Spring Lake Lakers

The Whitehall Vikings will head out to square off against the Spring Lake Lakers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Spring Lake took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Whitehall, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Whitehall turned things around against Orchard View on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cardinals. The Vikings not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0).

Meanwhile, Spring Lake came up short against Holland Christian on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Lakers in their meetings with the Maroons: they've now lost eight in a row.

Whitehall will need to focus on slowing down Zoe Winters, one of several Spring Lake players who made an impact when they last played. She had 18 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Selah Kobylak, who had 12 digs and three aces.

Spring Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17-2. As for Whitehall, their win bumped their record up to 9-32.

Whitehall suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Spring Lake when the teams last played back in September. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
