Basketball Recap: Don Lugo Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Don Lugo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 71-65 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ayala Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Conquistadores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1080th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 153rd).

Don Lugo's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-11. As for Ayala, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Don Lugo will be taking part in a tournament against La Canada at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ayala, they will be home for the holidays to greet Glendora at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Glendora's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.
