It was a good run, but Genoa-Kingston unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 53-40 to the Rockford Christian Royal Lions. The Cogs were probably out for revenge after losing 59-35 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rockford Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josie Becker led the charge by putting up 21 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shea Ludwig, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Genoa-Kingston's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8. As for Rockford Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Genoa-Kingston will head out on the road to square off against Mendota at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rockford Christian, they will square off against Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
