Football Recap: Corpus Christi Moody Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Corpus Christi Moody, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They snuck past the King Brahmas with a 27-22 win on Thursday. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Brahmas, too.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Corpus Christi Moody's defense and their three sacks. Cash Orgas was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Corpus Christi Moody got some further help from Robert Garcia: he picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

When it comes to explaining why King lost, don't look at Damarius Montgomery-Buckley. Despite the final result, he rushed for 181 yards and a pair of TDs.

Corpus Christi Moody now has a winning record of 3-2. As for King, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corpus Christi Moody will head out to challenge Miller at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Trojans will be up against the Buccaneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for King, they will head out on the road to square off against Valley View at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
