Basketball Recap: Lightridge Comes Up Short

Lightridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 72-48 to the Loudoun Valley Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Bolts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Vikings are ranked 97th).

Lightridge's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Loudoun Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lightridge has already played their next matchup (against Stone Bridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Loudoun Valley will host Rock Ridge at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Loudoun Valley's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Rock Ridge has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
