Baseball Game Preview: Fordson Tractors vs. Dearborn Pioneers

For the second straight game, Fordson will face off against Dearborn. The Tractors will welcome the Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Fordson fell victim to Dearborn and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Pioneers, falling 15-0. The loss put an end to the Tractors' undefeated start to the season.

For Dearborn's part, Derek Mincey looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Dearborn got a big performance out of Ayman Abadi, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Saad, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Dearborn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.

Dearborn's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Fordson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
