Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Murrieta Mesa's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Murrieta Mesa can now relate to. They came up short against the Bishop Montgomery Knights on Thursday, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Rams haven't been shut out since back in September.

While Murrieta Mesa was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Bishop Montgomery's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-20.

Emerson Macias paced Murrieta Mesa's offense, picking up 12 kills. Macias got some help from Analei Bradley and her 21 assists.

The loss snapped Murrieta Mesa's winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 31-7-2 record. As for Bishop Montgomery, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Murrieta Mesa nor Bishop Montgomery have any future games scheduled.
