Baseball Game Preview: Munroe Bobcats vs. L.E.A.D. Academy Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Munroe Bobcats challenge L.E.A.D. Academy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Munroe has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Munroe's offense. They came up short against Madison County on Thursday, falling 20-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

L.E.A.D. Academy never got on the board in their matchup last Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Atmore Christian last Monday. Everything went their way against the Rams as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

L.E.A.D. Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Silas Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in RBI. Royce Jones was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

L.E.A.D. Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got L.E.A.D. Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Munroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
