Softball Recap: Chase Drops Highest Score of Season Against Hendersonville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chase). Everything went their way against the Hendersonville Bearcats on Tuesday as the Chase Trojans made off with a 22-8 victory. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Myra Beaver made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Beaver was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and three doubles. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Charlize Byrd and Montana Honeycutt did most of the damage at the plate: Byrd went 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI, while Honeycutt went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave Byrd a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Bailey, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Chase was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Chase's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Hendersonville, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Chase has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Hendersonville on the 14th. As for Hendersonville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 13-2 victory against East Henderson on the 12th.
