Basketball Recap: Ray Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ray can now relate to. They took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alamo Heights Mules on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Mules are ranked 48th).

Alamo Heights' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alex Elliott led the charge by dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Jones, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Ray's loss dropped their record down to 25-13. As for Alamo Heights, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-8 record this season.

Ray does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alamo Heights, they have already played their next contest, a 57-51 win against Liberty Hill on the 28th.
