Volleyball Recap: Indio Comes Up Short

Indio came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the San Jacinto Tigers, falling 3-0. If the Rajahs were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Indio was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 25-19.

Tristan 'Zaza' Zazueta was the offensive standout of the match as he had 41 assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Indio's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for San Jacinto, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Coming up, Indio will host Coachella Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Indio's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. After both having extra time off, San Jacinto and Hemet will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Hemet has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
