Volleyball Recap: Liberty Lions vs. Northgate Broncos
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Liberty couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the Northgate Broncos on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for the Lions seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.
Liberty was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-10.
Zachary Sisney paced Liberty's offense, picking up ten kills. Sisney got some help from Tyler DeGuzman and his 18 assists. Mason Villaroman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Northgate got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Austin Chan out in front who had seven digs and four assists. That's the most assists Chan has posted since back in March.

With the loss, Liberty broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-7. As for Northgate, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 38-3.
