Basketball Recap: Wharton Takes a Loss

Wharton lost against Brazosport back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wharton Tigers were beaten by the Brazosport Exporters 85-51. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brazosport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Deja El-Amin, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 31 points and six steals. The game was El-Amin's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Sanii Player was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine boards.

Wharton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Brazosport, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

Wharton will take on Sweeny at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brazosport, they will challenge Needville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
