Softball Recap: South Webster Sets Scoring Season-High Against River Valley

South Webster scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Valley Raiders. The Jeeps were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Kerija Sauliete led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Jaiden White was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

This is the second loss in a row for South Webster and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for River Valley, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Webster will challenge Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Valley, they will take on Athens at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
