Baseball Recap: Niles Notre Dame Takes a Loss

Niles Notre Dame lost against St. Patrick last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Dons came up short against the Shamrocks, falling 11-4. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Niles Notre Dame got a good showing from Aidan Nowak, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Nowak has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Niles Notre Dame saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Olivares, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Niles Notre Dame's record is now 7-4-1. As for St. Patrick, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Niles Notre Dame will venture away from home to face off against Marist at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Patrick, they will head out to challenge Marian Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Shamrocks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
