Preview: Notre Dame Titans vs. Nogales Nobles

Notre Dame has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Nogales Nobles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Notre Dame's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Notre Dame had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They really took it to the Mustangs for the full four quarters, racking up a 87-45 win at home. Notre Dame has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 22 points or more this season.

Notre Dame can attribute much of their success to Yirmeyah Michel, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 7 assists, and Caiden Broughton, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sheeck Morris, who scored 11 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, Nogales entered their tilt with Acaciawood with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Nogales snuck past Acaciawood with a 53-48 victory on Wednesday. 53 seems to be a good number for Nogales as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Notre Dame's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.0 points per game. As for Nogales, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season.

Notre Dame ended up a good deal behind Nogales in their previous meeting back in December of 2014, losing 62-47. Can Notre Dame avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
