Basketball Game Preview: River Mill Jaguars vs. Ascend Leadership Aviators

River Mill is on an 11-game streak of home losses, Ascend Leadership a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The River Mill Jaguars will welcome the Ascend Leadership Aviators at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when River Mill faced off against Southern Wake Academy on Tuesday. River Mill had to suffer through a 73-23 loss at the hands of Southern Wake Academy. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 679th, while the Lions are ranked 120th).

Meanwhile, Ascend Leadership lost to American Leadership Academy-Johnston on the road by a 63-44 margin on Wednesday.

River Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Ascend Leadership, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

River Mill was able to grind out a solid victory over Ascend Leadership in their previous matchup back in January, winning 47-35. Will River Mill repeat their success, or does Ascend Leadership have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
