Baseball Game Preview: Keene Chargers vs. Trinity Leadership Tigers

The Keene Chargers will challenge the Trinity Leadership Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keene has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Keene had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Village Tech put an end to it on Tuesday. The Chargers came up short against the Viper Squid, falling 16-0. The Chargers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Trinity Leadership entered their tilt with Madison on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Trojans.

Caron McGee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McGee was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Trinity Leadership's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-8-1 when he doesn't).

In other pitching news, Elijah Mar tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaden Fallesen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Trinity Leadership: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-7-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carel McGee, who scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Keene's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-12. As for Trinity Leadership, their win bumped their record up to 5-8-1.
