Football Recap: Fontana Takes a Loss

Fontana extended their losing streak to ten on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-10. They were dealt a 39-6 loss at the hands of the Jurupa Hills Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Steelers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 501st, while the Spartans are ranked 209th).

As for Jurupa Hills, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Jurupa Hills' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Alegria, who picked up 260 receiving yards and five scores. Alegria was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 58 yards. Emelie Castrejon was another key passer, throwing for 341 yards and six TDs.
