Football Game Preview: Fossil Ridge Panthers vs. Brewer Bears + How To Watch

The Fossil Ridge Panthers will head out to face off against the Brewer Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fossil Ridge has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Brewer will arrive with three straight wins.

Fossil Ridge fought the good fight in their overtime game against Denton on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. On the bright side, the 42- point effort marked the Panthers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Fossil Ridge might have lost, but man, Malaki Lockhart was a machine: he rushed for 103 yards and three scores, and also threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. 93 of Lockhart's passing yards were hauled in by Peyton Cundiff.

Meanwhile, Brewer didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Birdville on Friday, but they still walked away with a 32-27 victory.

Brewer's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Fossil Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Fossil Ridge couldn't quite get it done against Brewer in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 17-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Bears' Kameron Coleman, who rushed for 135 yards while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Now that the Panthers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
